Worship Pastor at Hope Church

Job Description:

Responsible for the Worship Ministry at a growing, innovative, and integrating church. The Worship/Creative Pastor will be the leader and mentor to musicians, vocalists and other worship arts servant leaders including video, sound, lighting, and live production. Must be able to play and lead worship from guitar or keyboard. Candidate must be high-energy yet discerning and passionate about creative and artistic ministry. This person must have integrity and a heart for worship. Candidate should be technically minded, leadership-focused, and looking to work in a team environment. The ideal candidate will have experience leading a worship/arts team in a multisite church and possess a successful track record building teams and ministering through others. They will also have experience supporting the AVL and technology needs of a dynamic worship experience. They will have the ability to lead worship but be very comfortable not leading from the platform.

Reports to: Lead Pastor and Executive Leadership team.

Personal Life: As an employee of Hope Church, you are an important member to the church staff team. This position requires that you be available and prepared to share the gospel, pray, teach, counsel, and

minister spiritual care to others. Because of the nature of these types of ministries it is an absolute necessity that you possess and maintain a testimony or lifestyle that is above reproach in accordance with Scripture. What you do on your own time, or post on social media, may seriously affect your ability to perform these types of ministries, which are an important part of your job. 

Qualifications, Education & Experience:

- High School Diploma/GED

- Experience as a Worship Pastor

- Successful career progress in the Worship/Creative Arts area

- Experience working with contractors

Work Responsibilities:

1. Oversee Worship for Sunday morning experiences, once a month prayer night, and occasional special experiences. This includes ensuring the scheduling, communication and coordination of the Sunday Experience with the Worship Team.

2. Be the Primary Worship Leader and Chief Musician

3. Oversee Production Team Leader to ensure all audio, visual, and lighting functions to create an excellent experience. This will include ensuring quality and excellence in the lighting system, stage/set design, sound/video, and overall church design.

4. Collaborate with pastors and other presenters towards a unified vision and message for the Weekly Sunday Experience.

5. Assist with planning and execution of new experiences including different formats and forms of musical and creative expression.

6. Identify, recruit and develop/train the leadership of the Worship Team.

7. Work closely with the pastoral, content, and production teams to develop themes and integrate the various creative elements into a cohesive message that supports the sermon series and

other vital areas of church life.

8. Administrative duties that include planning, budgeting and purchasing for your areas of responsibility. This includes supervising the maintenance and acquisition of music and technology equipment.

9. Provide Pastoral care. Assist with general Pastoral care needs.

Administer the ordinances of the Church and perform weddings and funerals.

10. Create space for the hearts of the worship team to flourish.

11. Oversee the writing and composition of original music with other worshippers and worship teams at Hope.

Technical Skills:

• Read music and/or charts
• Provide Pastoral care. Assist with general Pastoral care needs. Administer the ordinances of the Church and perform weddings and funerals.
• Understand or ability to learn production software including: Lightkey, ProPresenter 7, Real Stream Broadcasting. 
• Experience in Stage/Set design 
• Understand or ability to learn Planning Center and Breeze CHMS.
